Gold Mountain Limited was originally listed on the Australian Stock Exchange as Commissioner's Gold Ltd (ASX: CGU) in 2011. In June 2014 the current Board of Directors took over the listed entity and gave the company a new strategic focus, a new management team and facilitated a large capital injection. In December 2014 the company changed its name to Gold Mountain Limited (ASX: GMN).
In June 2014, as part of the company's strategic changeover, a proposed acquisition of the Crown Ridge Gold Project (Viva 20 tenements) was announced, and an intensive exploration program was immediately commenced. Due diligence exploration work is currently being undertaken across the tenements within the highly prospective gold-produing Enga region in PNG.
The six Viva 20 tenements (EL1966, EL1967, EL1968, EL2426, EL2306, EL2430) occur in the New Guinea Thrust Belt, arguably the richest geological gold zone in Papua New Guinea, and host of many well-known gold and copper-gold deposits including OK Tedi, Porgera, Mt Kare, Frieda River and Yandera.
